You Ain't Coming Home
It was a sunny day so bright and clear
A sunny day but you weren’t here
So I guess it wasn’t sunny after all
'Cause the sun ain’t shined since you’ve been gone
They can say it has but they’re all wrong
Just clouds and rain since summer turned to fall
And now here I am with all this time to spare
But tell me what good’s all this time
When all that’s left here just reminds me
That I’ve got to learn to get on without you here
'Cause I know know know know
I know it in my bones
It’s so hard to say
But you ain’t coming home
You ain’t coming home
Remember back before the rains
The way we laughed, the silly games
Like children who no longer need to hide
But you were gone by summer’s end
You were gone for good my sunny friend
It’s been hard to carry on though I have tried
And now here I am with all this time to spare
But tell me what good’s all this time
When all that’s left here just reminds me
That I’ve got to learn to get on without you here
'Cause I know know know know
I know it in my bones
It’s so hard to say
But you ain’t coming home
Now they say it’s the way some things go
And I just want to scream it ain’t so
No I don’t want to hear it but I know
The time has come and I just
Have to let you
Have to let you go
'Cause I know know know know
I know it in my bones
It’s so hard to say
But you ain’t coming home
You ain’t coming home
